Why Shea’la?

Somewhere around ten years ago, I saw the first signs of eczema! It was a scar on the back of my neck. It looked a lot like a scab and it was about an inch in diameter. I had no clue what was going on, so I went to my doctor and I was diagnosed.  Periodically, over the years I would get patches that looked and felt like goosebumps on the front of my neck, chest and arms. The doctor prescribed steroid creams I would have to apply two times a day. One doctor finally explained that all the chemicals in my bath products were the culprit. I read the ingredients list and realized I was making my skin sick. Sure, I smelled great, but my skin was not happy.  Needless to say, all my favorites went in the trash so I could adopt an arsenal of more expensive products that didn’t cause my eczema to flair, but instead left my skin dry. Dry skin not only looks bad, but the main function of skin is to protect. And when it is flaky and cracked… well, you know the rest.

So, this is why Shea’la happened! I formulated products that could moisturize and keep me more moisturized than ever before! Honestly, I enjoy my butters, but my personal favorite are the sugar scrubs. If you’re like me, you want to shower, dry off, dress and go! Sugar scrubs allow that because they are made with olive oil and shea butter. I add additional moisture to my feet and hands because of my skin condition, but the rest of my body feels like silk! Also, I don’t have to worry about additional chemicals because the products are handmade without preservatives.

Shea’la also happened because I love shea butter, but it is sooooooo hard to apply. First, you grab a chunk and hope your skin is warm enough to spread it. As you attempt to rub it in, little crumbles of precious shea butter fall to the floor. So, Shea’la Butter combines coconut oil and sweet almond oil, which by the way are great moisturizers and offer other benefits too, but they help to smooth the texture of shea butter. Shea’la Butter is whipped, so it spreads just like whipped butter and melts on your skin at first contact! Get buttered up to moisturize your skin, enjoy smooth application, feel silky and smooth, and simply glow.
